I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to those of you who came to Strategic Service Training. If you weren't able to make it, here are the highlights!
We started off by playing a few "minute to win it" games. Everyone had a blast!
Next, we split into large and small groups to go over a few key points of volunteering. I shared my (very limited) knowledge with the large group volunteers, and I got a LOT of great feedback! I learned so much.
Stephen Sowell, Andre Rose and Daniel Black all gave a lot of great ideas and reminders for large group.
The Bible should always be visible on stage, even if the story isn't a "Bible story"- we want kids to know that the Word of God is True!
Worship leaders have a huge impact on the story teller & host! These volunteers told me that when worship leaders are prepared and energetic, their job is easier. Kids want to get excited and be engaged, and worship is the best way to do that. Then, the story teller can use that energy to capture the audience with the story.
Sherrie-Brooke took the worship leaders in another room and they went over some new motions! Thanks to her for putting so much extra time & effort into last Sunday.
After training, we all walked to Herty Field to eat Mirko and hang out. All in all, it was a great Sunday! Thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers, whether you were at SST or not, you are an incredibly valuable part of our team!
